How are the awards decided?

  1. PUBLIC NOMINATIONS The Spirit of London Foundation team, work with the 33 London Boroughs as well as national and regional media and sponsors to create a wide net of opportunity to find great examples of our young people from.
  2. WHO ARE THE LIKELY CANDIDATES There are no "usual suspects" as our fantastic nominees from the 2009 aweards programme proved. They come from all walks of life, but they have one thing in common – Aspiration and ambition as well as a strong sense of community.
  3. HOW ARE THE SPIRIT OF LONDON WINNERS FOUND? The nominations are first researched by our admin team then any support material provided by those nominated will be added for review by the Executive Management.

A short list is then created in each of the categories and then the three members of each category judging panel will sit in judgment to determine the winners. As the nominee class of 2009 found at the inaugural awards show at the Alexandra Palace, they are all treated as winners on the night!
