CHARLTON ATHLETIC COMMUNITY TRUST
Charlton Athletic Community Trust has worked with young people in the community for 17 years and engages with over 7,500 young people each week many of those are in groups most at risk of social exclusion, on a vast array of projects in Bexley, Greenwich and Kent. Our programmes are delivered in schools, estates, youth and community centres, parks, prisons, pupil referral units and young offender's institutions. The power of football, sport, and increasingly the arts are used to engage young people in activities that then leads to reducing crime, improving health, raising educational attainment and increasing pathways to employment.
Charlton Athletic Community Trust launched the Street Violence Ruins Lives project on 23 August 2008 with an awareness campaign warning of the dangers of street violence at a live game that was covered by Sky TV and continues to work closely with Colin and Sally Knox, parents of Rob Knox, following the tragic death of their son after he was stabbed in Sidcup in May 2008.
CRIMESTOPPERS
Crimestoppers is the independent crime-fighting charity. It runs the 0800 555 111 phone number, allowing people to call 24/7 completely anonymously to pass on information about crime. People can also pass on information anonymously via a secure online information form on their website. Callers don't have to give their name or any personal information and calls cannot be traced.
FAMILIES UTD
Families Utd aims to be a conduit to many different support and advice mechanisms, all designed to put forward and support the whole issue of Youth Violence in this country from the perspective of people who have had to deal with it first hand - the victims' families.
This places us in a unique position having experienced the Criminal Justice System at first hand, as well as the intense trauma surrounding the pointless death of a loved one. We want to use our experiences, opinions and drive to make a difference - to help support others that will inevitably go through this and to affect public opinion and government policy.
This site will provide a continual focal point for our thoughts, opinions and activities - and we urge you to bookmark this site, spread the word and get involved.

MYGENERATION
MyGeneration is a registered charity based within the diverse and multi-cultural area of North Kensington, West London. Our aim is to address social and economic problems that affect young people and their families within our local and neighbouring areas, by encouraging informal social interaction with a nurturing but disciplined approach.
We aim to steer a new generation of disenfranchised young people away from a life of crime, drugs and anti-social behaviour to a life of employment, self-reliance, education and social responsibility. PEACE ON THE STREETS
Choice FM's Peace on the Streets campaign was brought about to educate and inspire London's future generations. Initially started, in 2004, as a reaction to the growing number of young fatalities happening in London.
Often the local community cannot have their opinions heard, Choice FM acknowledged this and has presented them with a platform where they could have their say. Choice FM have invested deeply to the commitment of Peace on the streets by embarking on several school tours aimed at educating and motivating young people, as well as having informative seminars and debates surrounding these issues.

THE DAMILOLA TAYLOR TRUST
The Trust was set up as a memorial to Damilola, so that it might lead to his legacy being one of positive change in inner city communities. Now more than ever these changes are required so that the young people in these communities can live their lives free of fear and violence with renewed optimism in the future where options and opportunity can be made available to them.
This is the vision and while the trust may not be able to defend the entire world as Damilola dreamed of doing, but if we can defend the young people of our inner city communities then the quest will be a worthy one.

An important part of the VYG's work is to provide a familiar place to which young people can turn for practical, moral and ethical advice and guidance. Counselling and mentoring are available at all UCKG HelpCentre throughout the week.
Throughout the year the VYG engages in various activities and community work not only to give the young people we work with a sense of achievement but also to improve the environment around us.

Y.E.S. (YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SERVICES)
Youth Empowerment Solutions was founded in 2006 against the background of an unprecedented rise in youth crime, violence and murders, by use of Guns (mash, strally), Knives (shanks) and other lethal weapons. This rise was based on high gang activity as the government and other statutory youth bodies struggled to control and understand young people.
Therefore by listening to the youth Y.E.S created youth centric and holistic intervention programmes that have not only empowered young people but to date but have transformed their lives in many positive ways. To this end many of the young people we work with between the ages of 14-25 are no longer within the N.E.E.T (not in education, training or employment) category and many have become successful in achieving their life goals and ambitions. In a nutshell we see ourselves as the bridge filling the existing gap between the parents, community and the young children and the criminal justice system and local government by providing not just a voice but a practical means of communication and understanding thus creating an atmosphere for positive community cohesion.
We firmly believe that all young people in the community should be given a chance to improve themselves to the best of their abilities and all entitled to dignity, respect and justice.
âIF YOU'RE NOT PART OF THE SOLUTION THEN YOUR PART OF THE PROBLEMâ

WORKING LINKS
Once upon a time some like-minded individuals got together to see if they could help people who had been out of work for a long time. And then one day they came up with a brilliant idea. "Hey, you know what?" one of the guys said, "with our private sector expertise and your public sector values, we could really help change people's lives."
But what they didn't realise was not only was this simple idea one of their best yet, there were also lots more individuals out there who wanted to get involved. In April 2000 Working Links was born and we were the first public, private, voluntary partnership in the UK. By working closely with employers, providers and many other partner organisations we now help one person get back into work every eight minutes. But we're not stopping there. As the market that we operate in changes, we're evolving too. We're tackling big issues and reaching more people. While our role as a leading welfare to work organisation strengthens, we are forging ahead in other sectors too

BALLERZ LEAGUE
Ballerz League provides a platform for young individuals to get discovered through their sporting achievements. This is done through our competitive 6 a side football, and leisure leagues.
We believe through focusing on and awarding positive individuals and teams it detracts from the negative connotations usually linked with today's young people. Rather than denunciating the bad behaviour we award good behaviour and have a variety of things in place to achieve this.
Our 6 a side football leagues gives young people a platform to develop their skills and also reinforce the importance of being a team player.
